Vaginal cancer is a type of cancer that is formed in the vaginal tissues ie in the tissues of birth canal.

Squamous cell carcinoma is the most common type of vaginal cancer. This type of vaginal cancer originates from the thin, flat cells that lie lining the vagina. Adenocarcinoma is yet another type of vaginal cancer. Adenocarcinoma cancer originates in glandular cells in the vaginal lining.
