Chelsea could welcome as many as six new faces to Stamford Bridge before the January transfer window slams shut on Wednesday evening. The Blues have been heavily linked with numerous big names this month as Mauricio Pochettino plots a late – and ambitious – bid for Champions League qualification.
While Liverpool, Manchester City and Arsenal battle it out for the title, Chelsea have only recently climbed into the top half of the Premier League table. The west London club\’s chances of finishing in the top-four remain intact, although they would need to drastically transform their performances for the better.
With Manchester United, Brighton, West Ham Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa all also eyeing up a European qualification spot, Chelsea may need a couple of signings to spring them into life. Whether it be a new striker, a midfielder or even a prospective replacement for Thiago Silva, Pochettino needs a catalyst.
