BREAKING NEWS: “Play him upfront as a number 9, he will bang you more goals than Eddie and Jesus combined”- Manchester United Legend. Ryan Giggs tells Mikel Arteta to play his 22-year-old defender as a striker and forget about Gabriel Jesus, Eddie Nketiah, and even Trossard.
Ryan Giggs suggests that Arsenal’s 22-year-old striker, who previously played as a defender, should be put up front. The club needs to find a solution to improve their goal scoring.
The Arsenal have only scored five goals in their last five games and must find a way to be more clinical.
There has been much speculation that Arsenal will recruit a new striker during the January transfer window, but Leroy Rosenior, appearing on Premier League Productions, has another alternative in mind.
Indeed, Rosenior says that if he were in charge, he would play Bukayo Saka up front, arguing that he is more than capable of doing so.
Play Saka in front.
Giggs provided his thoughts on how Arsenal could resolve their striker dilemma.
“You talk about Jesus and Nketiah not being good enough, so why not put Saka up front? Liverpool alternates between playing Salah up front and through the center.
“I’d try it he’s that good, he’s played left-back, he’s played on the right, he’s played played left, I’d play him up front, see how he does because Jesus and Nketiah obviously aren’t good enough,” Giggs stated in a press conference.
Not what Arsenal needs.
We adore Saka as a player, but we can’t picture him having the qualities required to be a striker.
He’s not a particularly physical player, and he doesn’t tend to get in behind much.
Saka’s best work is done out wide, beating defenders, delivering crosses, or launching diabolical whipped shots into the back post.
Saka is a terrific player who could certainly play up front if necessary, but he should be played in his best position, which is on the right wing.
Saka’s development as a left-back is astonishing, and the fact that he is now being discussed as a potential striker option is even more impressive.
