Ian Wright has praised Everton defender and alleged Arsenal target Jarrad Branthwaite.
The 21-year-old has emerged as a Mikel Arteta target after a solid season at Goodison Park thus far
Arsenal are just one of many major clubs keeping an eye on Jarrad Branthwaite, with Real Madrid, Tottenham, and Manchester United also reportedly interested.
The teenager has been an ever-present for the Toffees this season, scoring his second goal in a 1-1 draw against Brighton on Saturday.
And his current performance for Everton has earned him high acclaim from Arsenal legend Ian Wright, who calls the defender a’monster’.
Wright praises Arsenal target Branthwaite.
Speaking on Wrighty’s House, the former Arsenal striker stated that Branthwaite deserves an England call-up following his great performances.
“I would like to give flowers to Jarrad Branthwaite,” Wright stated in response. “I believe he will be in England’s next squad. He has everything.
“You can see how he plays, and he also plays well on the left side. Very bold. And then, when you listen to his interview, he sounds like someone who is saying, “Yeah, I’m there, I’m here.”
“He should be called up.” Not only that, but he deserves to be played. Let’s have a peek at him. I’m telling you, we have a monster at left-sided center-half. “A monster.”
Branthwaite has swiftly established himself as a regular for Sean Dyche this season and is regarded as one of the Premier League’s top prospects.
It’s no surprise that a number of prominent clubs have already expressed interest in the centre-back. But Arsenal will face stern composition for his signing, if they chose to firm up approach.
