According to Fichajes, Arsenal is considering a surprise bid for Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk.
The Gunners were close to signing the Ukrainian winger before he joined Chelsea in 2023. Arsenal was on the approach of signing a deal with Shakhtar Donetsk, but Chelsea hijacked the agreement by agreeing to pay about £88.5 million.
Since his big-money move to Stamford Bridge, the 23-year-old has failed to adjust in England and hasn’t lived up to expectations. He has only four goals in 42 appearances with the Blues.
Reports suggest that Chelsea could be ready to cut their losses already and it appears Arsenal are ready to renew their interest. Fichajes claims the Gunners are the ‘main candidates’ to sign Mudryk along with Italian giants Juventus.
Chelsea will be aware that they will not be able to recuperate any of the money they spent for Mudryk, who is currently valued at roughly £34 million by Transfermarkt, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out over the coming months.
Arsenal clearly needs to sign a great winger, but signing Mudryk would be a massive surprise. He had a difficult time at Chelsea, and Arsenal fans would be anxious if the club invested heavily on the teenager.
Arsenal needs depth in many areas.
The Gunners require additional depth in the wide areas so that Mikel Arteta can rotate players like as Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli next season.
